Learning Farsi (Persian) on my own?
I’m attempting to learn Farsi on my own, and I have no familiarity with the language. I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations or advice? The audio programs and books below are what I plan to use and I would appreciate any opinions on them:
1. Persian-English English-Persian Learners Dictionary by Yavar Dehghani
2. Persian Grammar: For Reference and Revision By John Mace
3. Pimsleur Basic Farsi (Persian) Audio
4. Pimsleur Conversational Farsi (Persian) Audio

So far so good. I would also recomend, Living Languages: Farsi. It comes with some CD’s and a text which will teach you the alphabet, Sentence Construction and all around give you a good base in the language. I thought this would be good supplement becaus your main resources are Audio.
Afterwards you can begin to start having real conversations and reading simple stories with the help of your trusty dictionary ofcourse, slowly building your foundation in this language towards fluency.
