real london accent, but somehow it sounds fake to me?

http://www.zshare.net/audio/960876327bde58/

i found this audio in a couple of questions on yahoo! answers by several different users, so i looked it up on the web, and it had something to do with a reading contest or something of that sort in teddington. it had the reader’s profile and picture and everything, but this just doesn’t sound right to me!!
like this doesn’t sound like a real london accent, but then where is this accent from!?
i think it’s a blend of school-learned posh english and i hear a twang of north.
at first i thought it was some american or that sort trying to imitate an english person, when i first heard it.
am i off my rocker or does anyone agree with me?
please explain to me all that you hear in this accent.

It sounds natural to me. She may have been reading and making sure she enunciated each syllable. It is also very possible that she was born and spent some of your younger years in the north and then moved down to london (which would explain why her accent being a tad off.

The Phantom of the Opera (2004 Movie Soundtrack)

For better or worse, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s gothic horror/romance novel has done for stage musicals what Spielberg’s Jaws did for fish stories, with worldwide sales of its original cast album approaching 25 million. While director Joel Schumacher’s film turns on his typically ambitious visual verve, its new film soundtrack recording has been paradoxically focused in sc…

As the lead singer and co-writer for Hootie & the Blowfish, Darius Rucker always eschewed overt R & B, and fixed the band’s music in roots rock. Now on this solo album, Learn to Live, he immerses himself in the typical Nashville themes of home, hearth, and spirituality, with varying results. His sturdy baritone knows how to carry these messages, and he displays an ease with country phrasing….

The Notebook

The Notebook

$3.78

When you consider that old-fashioned tearjerkers are an endangered species in Hollywood, a movie like The Notebook can be embraced without apology. Yes, it’s syrupy sweet and clogged with clichés, and one can only marvel at the irony of Nick Cassavetes directing a weeper that his late father John–whose own films were devoid of saccharine sentiment–would have sneered at. Still, this touchingly i…

Denmark’s Nicolas Winding Refn makes an electrifying return to Hollywood filmmaking with this 1980s-style noir, right down to the synth score and neon-pink credits (he released his American debut, Fear X, in 2003). Ryan Gosling puts his implacable quality to good use as an L.A. stunt driver whose world crumbles when he falls for the wrong woman (Carey Mulligan). Irene is hardly a femme fatale, but…

Hickam’s true story begins in 1957 with Russia’s historic launch of the Sputnik satellite, and while Homer (played with smart idealism by Jake Gyllen…
