What could be a better idea than coming to Learn English in Auckland, New Zealand? The country itself has been made famous as a beautiful backdrop to many well known movies such as The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and is soon to be the stage for the movie The Hobbit. But even though kiwis love and are proud of New Zealand’s great outdoors, and love spending as much time as they can outside to enjoy it, there is much more this country has to offer a student wanting to learn English.
Auckland is a healthy place to live and even though it is the country’s biggest city, the million residents who live here are sprawled out over a large area. It’s only fairly recently that apartment living has grown in popularity, and many people still choose to live in houses in the suburbs. New Zealand is well known around the world for its clean and green environment. The country as a whole has very low pollution levels and as it is a country surrounded by oceans, it is not affected by the pollution of other countries.
You’ll be able to enjoy a slower pace of life. This can be a bit of an adjustment at first, but it doesn’t take new visitors long to get used to and then enjoy the Kiwi way of life. Being the largest city, Auckland still has plenty going on within its vibrant city atmosphere. Being immersed in an English speaking country while you learn the language is an excellent way to fast track your verbal and written communication skills.
You may find it a bit colder than you are used to. You’ll be coming to the warmer of the big cities in this country but Kiwis tend to be pretty hardy and don’t heat their houses as warm as many other people do. You might need to pack a warm coat and some warm woollens, or buy some of the beautiful merino jumpers and cardigans once you get here.
Embarking on the great adventure of coming to learn English in Auckland, New Zealand will also be about learning much more than the information you need to pass your exams or gain university entrance. It will be about you experiencing a new way of life, a new climate and a new country.
