Why do people feel that our educational system works?
I’m not knocking teachers and or educators that do a fine job at what they do, however I am a huge advocate that what we value in school does NOT make a person smarter!
Be honest, how many people here (save maybe 30%) actually used what they learned in high or middle school? All that alegra and trig that was drilled into my head has not helped me one once in my chosen career.
They say goto school and you will get a good job. Bull! High school diploma’s these days will get you a job as cashier, and guess what? You dont need algebra or trig, and kids have way too much English!
Why dont we teach our kids how to handle their money? Have a class where you must learn how to write a check and how to invest instead of mindless math that kids won’t use?

I rushed through writing the question. For the people who are going to bash my grammar and style, I make 100k with nothing I learned in school. 
I agree that children need to be taught more lifeskills that are prevalent to their future and after joining Yanswers, I have sorely discovered that spelling and grammar skills are lacking and may need to be reinforced all through the school years.
