English Packages for ESL students claim that if you Learn English, that’s all you need to be successful, why?
Ingles sin Barreras claims to turn your life around. It’s a totally crappy false message. To succeed you need to be outgoing and have leader qualities. You won’t get jobs just by knowing english. trust me, i’m hispanic american born here in usa but i’m quiet and shy…and i struggle in society alot. And the fact is many of the mexicans coming to USA are shy …so learning english with a CD/DVD package will not make them succeed in america. trust me, it takes personality and confidence and then if you have an accent you get discriminated still.. so i say these kind of companies should shut up and tell the truth.
I’m not going to try to disagree with you, I’m a white guy that only speaks English fluently.
However, I just moved to Texas. There are a lot of jobs that simply being able to speak BOTH English and Spanish would be a huge advantage. I work in a hotel and I’m constantly trying to learn Spanish here and there so that I can communicate with the housekeepers and the Spanish speaking guests that come in.
You have a point, but look at the advantages that you would have speaking both fluently.
