Need help with a correct English to Arabic translation?
I’m trying to translate my name–which is Amber–into Arabic. Google translate is coming up with this:
العنبر
But another site is saying this means warehouse, not Amber! I would really appreciate it if someone would tell me the correct translation. Thanks!
I agree with G2, it’s أمبر with the hamza at the beginning, a short ‘a’. I don’t agree with the person who said آمبر as that makes a long ‘a’ at the beginning and it isn’t really pronounced like that. But it’s up to you how you pronounce it!
Never trust Google translate. It is giving you ‘the amber’ and this word can indeed also mean ‘the warehouse’. But you are knocking off ‘the’ and it is a name, so you just transliterate it as it sounds.
