You don’t say anything about your situation … but if you are an immigrant with leave to remain, and especially if you are on a low income, many local authorities organise free or heavily subsidised classes for adults in English as a foreign language. I would suggest that you try the website of the London borough where you are resident … I am pretty certain you will be able to find a class which is affordable for you, even if it isn’t free. You should also pick up the free newspapers which are printed for many of London’s immigrant populations … you will also find details of classes in there.
